Jameson proves it has “The Vital Ingredient”
Thursday, June 3rd, 2010
The Vital Ingredient won Best Student Marketing Campaign at the 2010 gradireland Graduate Recruitment Awards last Thursday May 20th in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin. Irish Distillers came out tops against Accenture, Ernst & Young, KPMG, Microsoft Ireland, NUI Galway & Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
The Judges commented that the “The Vital Ingredient perfectly summed up their business model in addition to communicating to the talent they wish to attract on their terms…as the campaign encouraged networking with an innovative use of technology”.
Irish Distillers were also shortlisted for The Most Popular Graduate Recruiter.
The gala dinner and awards ceremony was attended by 300 of Ireland’s most respected employers, third level careers services and professional bodies, making it the biggest gathering of the graduate recruitment community in Ireland. Voted for by students and judged by an independent panel of industry experts, these awards recognise Ireland’s most popular graduate recruiters across a range of employment sectors.
Congratulations to all involved, the long hours paid off!
We Have Been Elected

Bluecube Interactive in partnership with Ipsos MORI has recently been appointed to redesign the Northern Ireland Assembly website. In a hard fought tender competition Bluecube and Ipsos came out on top to win the coveted piece of business.
This is a truly momentous project for both the NI Assembly Commission and Bluecube and is a landmark opportunity to play a real role in bringing the work of the Assembly closer to the people of Northern Ireland.
Trevor Reaney, Director General of the Northern Ireland Assembly said:
“We are delighted to get this important project off the ground. People from Northern Ireland and beyond may never visit Parliament Buildings, contact their MLA or get involved in political life, but they will visit the website and it is important that they find it useful and engaging. We are looking forward to working on this project and believe that it will bring people closer to the Assembly and the important work it does for us all.”
Best of Class in Online!
Thursday, April 29th, 2010
More good news this week! Two of our clients, National Trust and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board have been shortlisted for the Best Online Marketing Programme in the CIM awards.
National Trust has been nominated for it’s “Picture Yourself” Campaign, which ran from October 2008 to December 2009. The aim of the campaign was to position the National Trust as a place that has “something for everyone”, that provides “things to do” and “ways to get involved”. Online was at the heart of this strategy, a first for National Trust and a brave decision with strong above the line and below the line activity raising awareness and providing support.
NITB has been shortlisted for their 2009 online strategy which took place across 3 seasonal bursts of activity – spring, summer and autumn/winter. We were tasked with creating a campaign that promoted and grew short breaks and day trips to and within Northern Ireland. Working closely with our parent company AV Browne, we created a highly cohesive and integrated campaign, aimed at increasing user interaction and recall.
We’re delighted to have reached the final stage of what will be the 11th Annual Marketing Awards and look forward to the ceremony on 23rd September with fingers crossed for both shortlisted entries!
Highway to Hell…

To celebrate the launch of the AC/DC Iron Man 2 soundtrack, Sony Ireland asked us to follow up our award winning campaign for AC/DC last year and promote the movie soundtrack with a competition to win the band’s memorabilia. So we challenged AC/DC fans everywhere to prove they know their ‘Highway to Hell’ from their ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’ and to prove it by naming all the AC/DC classics in the movie trailer. The competition lived on the Sony site and we promoted it with YouTube pre-rolls and a PPC campaign targeting both the band’s and the movie’s fans.

We’ve just gone live with Meteor’s new pay as you go offer for free internet on your phone and free Meteor texts. We’ve extended the QMP Publicis campaign, Your Social Network, and appropriately concentrated on Facebook ads and apps, with a ‘Net Nut’ poll and a ‘Kiss, Tag and Tell’ Quiz, where you get to blab on your mates to win a Nokia 5230. We’ve also spun out a display campaign with an MSN and YouTube takeover thrown into the mix. (more…)
We Won!

Bluecube won top honours for “Best Web Design & Development Agency” at the prestigious Digital Marketing Awards in the Crowne Plaza, Dublin, last night. What makes this award particularly gratifying is that rather than focus on any one campaign this award recognises “strong visual and interactive designs, innovative interfaces and original creative concepts” across our full portfolio of clients throughout the year.
In what proved to be a hugely successful night for Bluecube, we also picked up a gold for “Best in Social Media & Networking” (BT Experiment) and silvers for “Best Viral” (Sony Ireland) and “Best Digital Advertising/Marketing Agency”.
Launched in 2003, the Digital Media Awards seek to reward excellence and innovation in the digital media industry.

STEMS Sells!
Thursday, February 25th, 2010
Almac Pharmaceuticals, a leading drug development company, required a fully integrated campaign to promote their revolutionary new software package – STEMS (Shipping Temperature Electronic Monitoring System). The system provides fast and accurate temperature monitoring on drug shipments, saving time and money.
Creatively, we needed to immerse ourselves in the world of pharmaceuticals, understand the product and speak directly to a niche audience in their language using a conversational tone that resonated authority and friendliness.
The campaign, which has just gone live, included a microsite and demo, online display campaign, email campaign, leaflets and press ads.

Bluecube are helping Bewley’s support this initiative through a social media campaign incorporating a Facebook quiz. You can take the quiz here and discover if you are a Fairtrade warrior, foot soldier or double agent…

With the upcoming 2010 Meteor Ireland Music Awards the talk of the airwaves, Meteor asked us to promote a new category “Most Promising New Artist” and get people voting for their favourites.
