Bio
Of American and German extraction, but born and raised in the international community in Brussels, I proceeded to study Political Science, Economics and World Literature at Williams College in Massachusetts. The nascence of the Web drew me to San Francisco after my degree, where I embarked on a career in IT and marketing. Ten years in IT services and client/project management followed, including five within online marketing. Along the way, I created an IT services business and worked in various capacities at DoubleClick, Globoforce, Macromedia, Proctor and Gamble, Schering AG, and Wells Fargo Bank.
Beyond the sphere of work, my greatest passion is collecting, compiling and composing electronic music. This is time-consuming, exasperating, but occasionally transcendent. I also delight in watching the UEFA Champions League and supporting Liverpool FC, while enjoying a good German or Czech beer. I am something of a selective media junkie and so imbue my brain with The Guardian, The Economist, The New Scientist, dark/clever/surreal humour often in the form of animated TV, and intelligent American drama of The Soprano’s/The Wire/Six Feet Under variety.
Finally, if you were to pick up my iPod or visit my profile on Last.fm, you would discover a universe of sound unfamiliar and perhaps frightening: James Holden, Dominik Eulberg, Extrawelt, Sander Kleinenberg, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso would all be there among countless, dedicated artists - enjoying select appreciation, but not true fame.
